About us
MRAMOR BERKSTONE was founded in 1962. with the main activity processing of rock materials. The factory was organized by an Italian specialist due to the presence of a marble quarry around the Berkovitsa district – Begovica.
Until the year 2000 the enterprise is state-owned and was managed within the framework of the State Economic Association – Mineralsouvenir, and later by the Ministry of Industry. Subsequently, the enterprise was privatized.
From the beginning of 2023 MRAMOR BERKSTON is owned by the company MRAMOR INVEST AD, whose main goal is to increase production, improve working conditions and modernize the material base.
MRAMOR BERKSTONE has three block cutters, several modern lines for processing, cutting, polishing or applying various types of surface processing to natural stones. The plant covers a total area of 108,000 sq.m. and has 7 workshops and over 30 ancillary buildings.
A major part of our production at the moment is the processing of “Vratsa” limestone blocks, 90% of our production is intended for Europe and the USA. Our main trading partners in the period 2021-2023. are companies from the USA, Austria, England, France, the Czech Republic, Romania, Germany, Denmark.
Vratza Limestone
Some of the most emblematic buildings in the Bulgaria are covered with Vratsa limestone – the Courthouse in the city of Sofia, the temple-monument “Alexander Nevsky”, the Central Department Store in the city of Sofia, various public buildings, municipal administrations and hotels in the country. Abroad, famous buildings where “Vratsa” limestone was used are The Swaminarayan Mandir (Buddhist temple in London, Great Britain, the largest Buddhist temple outside the territory of India), Vienna Museum (Vienna, Austria), Gothenburg University (Sweden), Royal Bank of Scotland, Jersy, Channel Island, Unibank (Copenhagen, Denmark).
